Elite Riders Launch P.E.T.A. - SHAG (Privileged Equestrians Targeted Always - Self Help Athletes Group) to Fight ‘Witch Hunt’

In a world where "eyewitnesses" and "smartphone cameras" increasingly disturb the peaceful flow of proven correction methods for psychological stabilization of horses (formerly: high-performance traumatization of sentient beings) at international equestrian events, (self-appointed) prominent representatives of the riding scene have finally reacted.

They have founded the alliance P.E.T.A. - SHAG: Privileged Equestrians Targeted Always - Self Help Athletes Group.

„We are the True Victims“

The spokesperson for the alliance - an anonymous 5* showjumping rider who wishes to remain unidentified while demanding maximum transparency from activists - explained:

“It’s a witch hunt. In the old days, you could 'align' your four-legged sports object …uh partner… in peace without someone immediately tossing around words like 'nerve receptors' or animal cruelty. Today, you get dirty looks just for correcting a horse a little more firmly - the way everyone else does, by the way.“

The new organization sees itself as a lifeline for riders whose "aura" has been compromised by malicious video recordings. The goal: to shift the focus away from the horse's back and toward the battered image of the human.

The 3-Pillar Program of the new P.E.T.A. - SHAG:

  • Optical Amnesty: If video footage of "rhythmic whipping" is leaked, P.E.T.A.-SHAG offers free Champagne Goggles. These distort reality so severely that the violence appears as a modern interpretation of Lord of the Dance.

  • Linguistic Redesign: The word "pain" is stricken from the vocabulary and replaced with "selective motivational intervention."

  • Mental Equestrian-Brain Sealing: A fund that covers the costs of burnout therapy in case a rider is traumatized by too many angry emojis under their Instagram posts.

A Heart for the System

Critics accuse the new alliance of cynicism. But P.E.T.A. - SHAG counters:

„Anyone who sees a horse as a living being with feelings hasn't understood the sport. A horse is a complex algorithm of flesh and bone with a programmable brain. This algorithm has to earn money. Software that isn't properly programmed is a danger to the rider's ego and the owner's wallet. And if the algorithm doesn't jump, you simply have to restart or recalibrate the hardware and perform a factory reset.“

In cooperation with the Association of Riders Who Have A Big Ego (ARWGBE), a petition has already been launched to generally ban cameras at competition grounds - to protect the "privacy of sporting passion."

Quote from an anonymous show jumper:

“People accuse me of violence, yet I am the one who feels the pain - the pain of the ingratitude of an animal that refuses to serve despite my investments. Anyone trying to protect my horse from me is attacking my fundamental rights as the creator of this sporting masterpiece. The whip is merely my Scepter of Reason.“

And so P.E.T.A. – SHAG marches bravely onward, defending the sacred right of riders to operate free from the unbearable burden of accountability. Because nothing threatens modern equestrian sport quite like a functioning camera and a public with eyes.

Strip those away, and what remains is perfection: flawless rounds, immaculate scores, and horses whose silence can finally be interpreted as consent rather than what it actually is. After all, if the only thing suffering is the truth, then the system is working exactly as designed.

And in that carefully curated reality, everyone wins - except, of course, the one participant who never had a vote to begin with.
