The brilliant invention – a flexible, multi-jointed arm that attaches directly to the saddle – targets the modern equestrian whose engagement in the digital world far surpasses their physical presence in the saddle.

The device features the patented ‘Vibration Smoothing Technology’, which neutralizes all jolts from trotting and cantering. This ensures that swiping across the display is smooth even in the fastest gallop and guarantees stable video telephony.

Critics – mostly bitter “old school” riders who still believe one must “build a relationship with the animal” – see the invention as a further step towards alienation. They warn that the horse might feel neglected due to the constant digital presence.

Dirk Schickel counters calmly:

The manufacturers point out that liability for falls due to distraction from solving a particularly complicated Sudoku is not assumed – although attention spans today are sometimes not even long enough for a Sudoku – if it doesn’t dance and contain text with images.
